Spouse Scholarships + Careers
Are you looking to fund your education, career, or business goals? NMFA can help! We have long recognized the barriers military spouses face due to the mobile military lifestyle and we want to help you “get to the finish line.” A military spouse may need just one more class, a few more supervised clinical hours, or a re-licensure in a new state. NMFA’s scholarship program and partner scholarships bridge that gap and make the difference between unemployment and meaningful employment.
Abeni has been married to her high school sweetheart, an Army Special Forces Soldier, for 13 years. They are currently living apart so she can finish school. She will graduate in Spring 2019 from George Mason University with a Master’s in Special Education. Abeni has four courses left, each costing about $2,000. In Abeni’s words, “I'm so grateful for this scholarship. I'm almost finished, and I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.”

STEM Careers
Science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) careers are among the fastest growing in the U.S., according to the Department of Labor. Given their mobile lifestyles, military spouses should consider careers in these often high-demand, financially-stable, portable professions – they may alleviate the stops and starts of your career every move or transition.
