TRICARE West Region Changes: Urgent Action Required

Update Your Payment Information Before January 1, 2025 to Avoid Losing TRICARE Coverage

Don’t risk losing your TRICARE coverage! If you don’t currently pay through military allotments, you must update your payment information with TriWest Healthcare Alliance before January 1, 2025.

Why Is This Happening?

On January 1, 2025, TriWest Healthcare Alliance will become the new TRICARE West Region contractor. Payment arrangements currently set up with Health Net Federal Services will not transfer automatically.

If you pay through military allotments, your payment details will transfer seamlessly. However, those using EFT, credit cards, or debit cards must take steps to update their payment information.

Who Needs to Act?

In a nutshell, all TRICARE West beneficiaries (except for those who currently pay via allotment) will need to update their payment information.

If you are a current TRICARE West beneficiary through Health Net Federal Services (HNFS) and pay by EFT, credit card, or debit card, you will need to update your payment information with TriWest.

Additionally, if you currently live in any of the six states below, you will be transitioning out of the TRICARE East Region. You will fall under the TRICARE West Region beginning January 1, 2025. You will also need to update your payment information with TriWest.

Changes to Network Providers

TriWest is actively expanding its network to ensure you have access to care. While some providers in the East Region may not transition, you can check the TriWest Provider Directory to find in-network providers in your area.

• Payments via military allotments will transfer automatically—no action required.
• No payments will be charged by TriWest before January 1, 2025.
• Current referrals remain valid until June 30, 2025, or their expiration date, whichever comes first.
